Minni's Favorite Books - Collage Based Books 🧩

This month we are bringing our love of art to the forefront and highlighting books that all have an element of collage, either in how the book is illustrated or how the story is told. Collage is one of our favorite creative processes at Minni, where you create a picture using a composition of various materials (such as paper, photographs, textiles, or objects) to create a completely new and unique piece of art. It is all about going with the flow, there is no right or wrong method and if you spill some paint it just makes it that much more unique!

DIY 3D Pop-Up Collage

Use simple folding techniques to add 3D elements to your collage art! This activity can be adapted for all ages! Little artists can try making their own collage by removing scissors and tearing paper and rolling it around chunky markers.

Winter Wonderland

🌞 Be the sunshine! We never let a few clouds rain on our parade! We’re making our own sunshine with these bright and bold collages. Slices of sun and super-bright rays burst across the page to create an exuberant expression of sunshine!

3D Beach Ball Collage

Your summer project is here! 🏖 Celebrate summer and follow these simple steps to create your own 3D beach ball out of folded paper! On a hot summer day, this project will keep your little artist cool indoors. This project is best for ages 4+.
