3D Pop-Up Collage

Use simple folding techniques to add 3D elements to your collage art! This activity can be adapted for all ages! Little artists can try making their own collage by removing scissors and tearing paper and rolling it around chunky markers.

Materials

  • Colored paper pieces and strips

  • Colored background paper

  • Scissors

  • Pencil

  • Glue stick or glue


Steps

1. Wrap a strip of paper around a pencil or other tool to make a curl!

2. Accordion fold a strip of paper back and forth to make a sig sag

3. Use scissors to cut a circle or another shape into a spiral.

4. Create a composition with your strips and shapes, then glue everything down. Consider overlapping or layering some of the shapes.
