🌈 Happy Pride Month!

We’re starting off June by celebrating LGBTQIA+ communities in Boston and everywhere with a Rainbow Collage project. Think about all of the beautiful colors you see when you walk around your neighborhood. Grab your art supplies and let’s create something beautiful together!

Materials

  • Glue Stick

  • Oil Pastels

  • Paper

  • Scrap pieces of paper in a variety of colors

  • Scissors (optional)

  • Washi tape (optional)

1. Begin by grabbing a piece of paper and oil pastels and drawing a rainbow. Make each color band about one inch thick. Cut out your rainbow with scissors once you’ve added all of your colors!

2. Collect recycled materials from around your house. Look for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple scraps of paper and art supplies.

3. With a glue stick, stick a variety of materials to your rainbow by following the colors you used for each band of color. We love using tissue paper, crepe paper, washi tape and any recycled scraps cut into unique shapes! Try covering each color band with scraps that have a similar hue.
