Paper Feast

Sharing meals and telling the stories of our food traditions is one of the many ways we celebrate community and family. Think about a favorite food or recipe you’d like to eat and share with others and recreate it in 3D paper collage!

This project is best for ages 4+, but can be adapted for little ones too.

Materials for Paper Feast

  • paper plate

  • scissors

  • glue stick or liquid glue

  • variety of colored paper

  • tissue paper (optional)

  • pencil

  • markers or other coloring materials

Let’s get started!

1. Using your pencil, start by making a list or quick sketch of your food.

2. Draw the outlines of your food on the colored paper. Think about what colors to use for each part- yellow might be used for corn, or brown for chocolate ice cream!

3. Cut out your shapes and glue them to the plate.

4. For an extra challenge, think of some 3D pop-up elements to add to your plate! Try folding a zig zag, making a spiral by wrapping paper around a pencil, or crumpling some tissue paper for mushy texture.
