Artist Spotlight: Rob Dunlavey

Meet Rob Dunlavey, an artist and children's book illustrator from Natick, MA. His most recent picture book is "Whale Fall" featuring Melissa Stewart's lyrical scientific description of ocean life after the death of a whale. Other books include: "In the Woods" with poems about New England animals by David Elliott and "Owl Sees Owl" featuring a reverso poem by Laura Godwin about a baby owl's first nighttime flight. Rob makes art every day and loves to share it with children and their caregivers.

Minni x Duckling Day

Minni is participating in this year’s Duckling Day!

Hosted by The Friends of the Public Garden, in association with the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Duckling Day is a beloved tradition of more than 30 years, celebrating the classic children's book, "Make Way for Ducklings" by Robert McCloskey. Every year, hundreds of children parade through Boston’s most picturesque parks, dressed like characters from the story led by the Harvard Marching Band.

Yarn Workshops with Boston Fiber Company!

Join us for a special two part, yarn-tastic workshop with Sara Ingle of Boston Fiber! Using vegetables, flowers, and materials you keep in your kitchen, students will work to naturally dye wool yarn. Participants, ages 4–10, will take home their yarn to dry along with instructions for future yarn-dying projects, like weaving, making pompoms or knit wearables!
