Bring your original characters to life in our Comic Zine Workshop with local illustrator Ava Pom! Students will be guided by Ava through the process of storytelling and paneling to the ultimate creation of their own colorfully inspired mini-comics. Each participant will delight in the transformation of simple white boxes into colorful, suspenseful and visual stories.

Minni Tween Workshops are for artists ages 8 to 12 as their next step in art exploration. They will explore new techniques, hone their skills, develop their own artistic voice(s). . and have fun too! Each workshop includes materials for individual and collaborative projects and because these are at dinnertime, cheese pizza! Participants are encouraged/invited to bring a water bottle and their own nut-free meal or snack if pizza isn't their favorite!

About Ava Ava Pom is a Boston-based Illustrator who loves translating her digital artwork into zines Risograph prints. She’s visually inspired by late 90’s - early 2000’s animated media and character design, and often intersects her work with the communities of indie publishing, DIY zine culture, and artist books.
