1. Pour equal amounts of corn starch and shaving cream into a bowl. We find that 1 cup of each is perfect for one child. Mix with a spoon and then with hands to form a powdery dough.

2. Experiment! What happens when more shaving cream is added? What happens if a splash of oil is added? Does the snow get stickier?

3. Encourage your little one to mold the snow into shapes!

4. Sprinkle some glitter on top and add a little color with either food coloring, liquid watercolor or diluted tempera paint. The snow will turn to a light pastel color! Make sure to knead the color into the dough completely.

5. Now its time to melt the snow! Slowly add water a little at a time while your artist (or scientist) mixes — the result will be oobleck! The goal is to create a mixture that turns to a solid when squished between fingers, but falls to a liquid when pressure is released.

Expert Tip: Pour the oobleck on a wide tray for easier access!
