Minni SculptureShop - Birthday Cake (Virtual)

Ages 4–10 

Minni’s private online workshops are designed to keep little ones ages 4–10 creating from the comfort of home. Each themed virtual workshop focuses on skill development, simple repurposed materials and unique ways to engage with our environments. 

In Minni SculptureShop – Birthday Cakes (virtual) bakers and sculptors will celebrate Minni’s birthday with the ultimate cake creation! Instructor Maria will show students how to stack, layer and decorate a cake sculpture using boxes and recycled materials.

Materials 

• Scavenger hunt items: materials that can be reimagined as cake decorations! This may include yarn, paper shapes, straws, pom poms and anything found at home

• 1–3 boxes

• Tape

• Elmer’s Glue

• Tempera paint – be sure to have plenty of white paint on hand!

• Bowls to mix paint in

• Paint brushes

• Optional: Shaving cream to create fluffy paint frosting

  We encourage all participants to complete a fun scavenger hunt challenge before we gather for each workshop. These items are listed above in the material list.

Home Studio Set-Up

Be sure to cover your work surface with paper and stock your at-home studio with paper towels and extra trays to easily combat messes.
