Presents and pastries for Pops.

Make something scrumptious and full of color for the fun-loving father figure in your life! Most of these materials can be found in your recycling. This project is best for ages 4+, but can be adapted for little ones too. Make Dad’s day and make some delicious donuts together!

Materials

  • Packing or kraft paper

  • Construction paper (in a variety of colors)

  • Tape (or washi tape)

  • Glue Stick

  • Scissors

Let’s get started!

Steps

1. Gather packing or kraft paper. To make a large donut, collect at least two feet of paper. Using your hands, bunch the paper to make a long “snake.” Form your paper into a circle.

2. Use tape or washi tape to keep your paper in place.

3. Create “icing” by cutting out a hole in a piece of colorful construction paper. Feel free to make the outer edges wavy like ours or scalloped, zigzagged or straight! If your little one is younger, you may need to assist in creating the “icing.”

4. Find other pieces of colorful scrap paper around your home. Cut out little rectangles and create sprinkles!

5. Using a glue stick, apply your sprinkles to your icing.
