Easy Salt Dough (all ages)

Don’t have any cream of tartar at home? Make the next best thing! Salt dough is a classic craft for energetic little ones that love goo. Whip up a batch of shapes and bake for painting + keepsakes! 

Ingredients + Materials

+ 2 cups of flour

+ 1 cup of salt

+ 1 cup cold water

+ baking sheet

+ watercolors or any kind of paint (for later)

Steps

1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.

2. Slowly add water, a couple tablespoons at a time. Mix to form a dough.

3. Split the dough amongst everyone and invite them to knead their portion and then make into a sculpture or shape. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

4. Bake for about 2 hours and let cool.

5. Take out the watercolors or any kind of paint and add some color!
