Minni CollageShop – Self-Portraits (Virtual)

Ages 4–10 

Minni’s private online workshops are designed to keep little ones ages 4–10 creating from the comfort of home. Each themed virtual workshop focuses on skill development, simple repurposed materials and unique ways to engage with our environments. 

In Minni CollageShop – Self-Portraits (Virtual) participants will reinvent recycled materials to create a work of art just as unique as they are. Instructor Maria will teach students how to create art from observation as they layer, mix and match materials to collage their own self-portrait. 

Materials 

• Cardboard or thick paper to collage on (if using cardboard we encourage a caregiver to help cut an oval shape in advance)

• Scissors

• A mirror 

• Small recycled objects + materials to collage with such as yarn, fabric scraps, bottle caps, twist ties, toilet paper rolls cut into loops, pipe cleaners and spare buttons

• Newspaper, magazines and/or construction paper

• Elmer’s Glue

• Paint brush or Q-Tip for applying glue

• Small dish or container for glue 

Home Studio Set-Up

Be sure to cover your work surface with paper and stock your at-home studio with paper towels and extra trays to easily combat messes.
